At the beginning of July 2025, our treasurer Nathalie Oberthür and our secretary Ulrike Stutz traveled to Kenya. They also spent a few days in Umoja.
We are delighted and grateful that the new board can now report on Umoja from their own perspective.
The many conversations with Rebecca Lolosoli, the women, and other contacts left a lasting impression.
Below, we provide their detailed report. In it, they paint a vivid picture of life in Umoja.
At the same time, they provide information about projects that we would like to implement in consultation with the women's community.
There continues to be a strong focus on education:
– We are looking for sponsors for our P+7 project for children who will start school in 2026. Sponsors wanted for 2026
– We are setting up a scholarship project for female students who started school in 2017, will complete 9th grade at the end of 2025, and will move on to senior secondary school. “School education instead of genital mutilation – a future for girls in Kenya”
