Now, as an association, we finally have our own logo. The following can be said about the symbolism and color scheme: Samburu women in Kenya wear the so-called “Samburu star” as traditional headdress on their foreheads in memory of the tribal legend that says the Samburu originate from the stars.
The central element of the logo is the white-silver Samburu star against a midnight blue sky.
The inner colored circle represents the national colors of Kenya, followed by the white circle with our association name and a reference to the women's village of Umoja.
The logo is rounded off with the outer colored circle, which shows the German national colors.
This harmoniously expresses the connection between the Friends of Umoja association here in Germany and the women's village of Umoja in Kenya.
On this basis, the perfect implementation into the current design was achieved with the active support of Cosima Bohle from Duisburg.
Cosima completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Design at the Institute of Design Düsseldorf (IN.D) when she designed the logo.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Cosima Bohle for her fantastic voluntary support of our association!
