Donation account

We would be very grateful if you would support our work financially.

Donations and contributions to support projects (e.g., for the school) can be made as follows.

You are also welcome to use the enclosed transfer form, which already contains our details:
FKU transfer form Donation account

Your donation to our non-profit organization is tax deductible. The german tax office will accept a copy of the transfer form or your bank statement together with the donation receipt below for amounts up to €300:

Simplified donation receipt

For donations where we have the full address of the donor, we will send you a donation receipt for your tax return without request in the first quarter of the following year. Therefore, please also include your full address to your donation.

Cash donations are still welcome. However, due to the high costs incurred for personalized cash deposits, we will no longer be able to issue donation receipts for these in the future.

Thank you very much for your support!

Two notes on our own behalf:

KeineKlickspende
We have discussed at length whether to offer a button for immediate online transfers at this point. This would make it easier for you to donate with a quick click. However, we have decided against it for the following reasons:
The providers of digital payment systems retain a portion of the money as commission. However, we want 100% of your donation to go to the women's village.
Furthermore, we would have to provide the providers with our donation account details, some of which they store on servers abroad. In view of the repeated successful hacker attacks on such providers, we have decided not to do this in order to protect the donation account.
We ask for your understanding.

DZI donation seal:
Non-profit organizations can obtain certification with the DZI donation seal. There is a fee for obtaining the seal, with the basic amount alone being at least €500 per year. This amount is enough to provide two schoolchildren in Umoja with school meals for a whole year. We have therefore decided not to apply for the seal in favor of supporting Umoja.

If you would like to verify that the Freundeskreis Umoja – Friends of Umoja e.V. is recognized as a non-profit organization, you are welcome to do so in the Federal Central Tax Office's register of grant recipients: Zuwendungsempfängerregister

You can find our annual reports with details on the use of funds on our information page: Our annual reports (german)The annual reports are also available to the tax office for assessment of our non-profit status. This was last recognized in January 2024.
